The Seven Mountains of Influence

What are the seven mountains?

Seven main domains influence every person, every community, and every society on earth. To visualize them, the course represents them as seven mountains:

• Business
• Education
• Arts and entertainment
• Government
• Family
• Media
• Religion

Each of these domains is controlled in some way, and whoever has influence over one of these mountains has an effect, righteous or perverse, on the entire nation.

A tool for the Great Commission

When the concept of the seven mountains is understood, it becomes an important tool for Christians who want to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). This concept is used by Christians around the world to help believers understand their role in society: following Jesus and living their faith where they have been placed, so that the Kingdom of God may advance in the nation.

The course develops a telling example: if the "mountain of government" is influenced by leaders who believe in honesty and integrity, they will pass laws that punish fraud and corruption, producing a better environment for all the other mountains. Influence is systemic.
