Holy Spirit I

The Holy Spirit is often the least known person of the Trinity among Christians. This first-year course helps you discover who He truly is: not an impersonal force, but God Himself acting in you and through you.

Who is the Holy Spirit?

The course first establishes a foundational truth: the Holy Spirit is God (Acts 5:3-4; 1 Corinthians 3:16-17). Through Him God created the earth (Genesis 1:1-2; Job 33:4), through Him Jesus Christ was conceived (Matthew 1:18), and He is the first person of the Trinity seen at work on the earth (Genesis 1:2).

But the Holy Spirit is also a person: He has intelligence (Romans 8:27), a will (1 Corinthians 12:11), and emotions. He can be grieved (Ephesians 4:30), and He loves (Romans 15:30). This revelation completely changes the way we walk with Him.

The Holy Trinity: unity and distinction

An important part of the course explores the relationship between the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit: identical in work, distinct as persons. You will study the meaning of the Hebrew word "echad" (collective unity) in Deuteronomy 6:4, and the beautiful distinction of roles: the Father is the source, Jesus is the giver of the source, and the Holy Spirit is the power of the source.

What you will discover in this course

  • The biblical proofs of the deity and personality of the Holy Spirit
  • The role of the Holy Spirit in creation and in the conception of Jesus
  • The unity and distinction of the three persons of the Trinity
  • How the Holy Spirit acts in the believer's life today

"And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever." — John 14:16

The rest of the path

This first part lays the doctrinal foundations. In the second year, Holy Spirit II will lead you into the practical dimension: the supernatural, spiritual gifts, and the twofold work of the Spirit in and through the believer.

Who is this course for?

For every Christian who wants to know the Holy Spirit personally, not only doctrines about Him, but real fellowship with the One Jesus called "another Helper." This course is for every child of God, from the new convert to the experienced servant: the Holy Spirit is given to all believers, not only to ministers.
