The Righteousness of God

Why this course is necessary

The opening diagnosis of the course is direct: much of the Church has failed because it has not understood the righteousness of God. Condemnation has been preached instead of righteousness. People have been made to believe that the righteousness of God is earned like wages through hard work (Romans 3), and that our redemption is postponed until death.

The result is a "sin consciousness": the believer loses God-consciousness and becomes more conscious of the physical world than of the supernatural.

The true definition of righteousness

The righteousness of God is the ability to stand in the presence of God the Father without any sense of guilt or inferiority. To be justified means "just as if I had never sinned": declared righteous, not guilty, made acceptable to God.

Three truths structure the course:

• The righteousness of God is what we are, not what we become
• The righteousness of God is not a thing; it is a position
• The righteousness of God is a free gift, received by faith (Romans 10:10)

Jesus, the second Adam

The course compares what Adam possessed before the fall (fellowship with God, authority, peace, absence of fear and guilt) with what he lost through sin. Then it shows how Jesus, the second Adam, came to restore everything the first Adam had lost (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Who is this course for?

For every believer who struggles with guilt, unworthiness, or an image of God as a distant judge, in other words, for every child of God, whatever their story and without any ministry condition. Understanding the righteousness of God transforms prayer, worship, and boldness in witness. It is one of the most liberating courses in CFBK's first year.
