The Mind of Christ in You

"Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 2:5). To function effectively in the Kingdom, you must think like the King. This course leads you into the mind of Christ.

What is the mind of Christ?

The course first defines the terms: the mind is the seat of reflection and the source of all rationality, the spiritual heart. To have the mind of Christ in oneself is to let this spiritual heart be formed in His image. It is this mind in you that will enable you to function effectively in the Kingdom of God.

Christ's voluntary descent

From Philippians 2:5-11, the course follows the stages of Jesus' voluntary abasement:

Emptying Himself: the act of pouring oneself out, choosing to lose. Jesus emptied Himself of heavenly glory (John 17:5). He left the glory He had in heaven to come to earth.

Taking the form of a servant: in ancient society, the slave was deprived of all rights. Christ voluntarily renounced His own (Mark 10:45). The course applies this directly: in God's service, you do not come to be served but to serve. Many have lost the mind of Christ in this area and turn ministry into a place where they come to be served.

Humility: lowering oneself, becoming obedient to death on the cross. The contrast is clear between Adam's revolt and Christ's obedience, and this voluntary abasement becomes the model for every disciple.

What you will discover in this course

  • What the mind of Christ is: the spiritual heart formed in His image
  • The three movements of Philippians 2: emptying, service, humility
  • How the mind of Christ transforms the character of the servant of God
  • Why God's exaltation always follows voluntary abasement

"Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name." — Philippians 2:9

Who is this course for?

For students preparing for ministry, and for every disciple of Jesus, because "let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus" is a call addressed to all the children of God. The mind of Christ is lived at home, at work, and in the church as much as in the pulpit. This course immunizes each person against the spirit of greatness.
