Foundations of Faith I

What is faith?

Faith is trust in God that is demonstrated: a choice followed by appropriate action. To have true faith that comes from the heart is to act on the basis of God's Word, whatever the circumstances around us and whatever physical evidence we see in our environment.

The course uses a striking image: faith is the hand that takes, from God's hands, the things we need. To believe, in the biblical sense, is an action word: to take, to seize. A person can believe in healing without being healed if they have never received it; believing is an act of the will.

A foundation for the three years

This course is well named: almost everything that follows in CFBK training, answered prayer, divine healing, and ministry, rests on faith that is correctly founded. The second year continues this teaching with Faith II, which deals with faith as substance and title deed, and with the difference between faith and mere mental assent.

For every Christian who wants to move from notional faith to faith that obtains results: understanding what God has already accomplished and learning to appropriate it through active faith. Whether you are young in the faith, an established believer, or a servant of God, faith is the way of life of every child of God. This course is for you.
