Spiritual Growth and Maturity
"By this time you ought to be teachers, but you need someone to teach you again the first principles" (Hebrews 5:12). Time does not automatically produce maturity. This course shows what does.
Growth and maturity: what they are
Using key passages (Matthew 5:48; 1 Corinthians 3:1-3; Ephesians 4:11-15; Hebrews 5:12-14; 1 Peter 2:2), the course defines spiritual growth and maturity, what they are and what they are not, then paints a portrait of spiritual immaturity, its characteristics, and its consequences in personal life and in the church.
Understanding the spiritual person
To grow, you must understand how a person functions: spirit, soul, and body (1 Thessalonians 5:23), with the characteristics and functions of each. The course examines the conflict between the spirit and the flesh (Galatians 5:17), the nature of spiritual warfare in the mind, and spiritual battles: defeats and victories (Ephesians 6:10-18; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5).
The path toward maturity
The practical part of the course is a growth program:
- Train your spirit: give priority to the Word; study, meditate, practice (Joshua 1:8)
- Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit: guidance, impressions, inner witness
- Renew your mind with the Word of God (Romans 12:2; Philippians 4:8)
- Crucify the lusts of the flesh by walking by the Spirit (Galatians 5:16)
- Always walk in love (Ephesians 4:15; 1 Corinthians 13)
The stages of growth
Like natural life, spiritual life has stages: newborn, childhood, adolescence, maturity (1 Peter 2:2; Ephesians 4:14). The course helps you identify where you are and what will move you to the next stage, especially the role of prayer, faith, and cultivated anointing.
"As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby." — 1 Peter 2:2
Who is this course for?

Whether you are a new convert, a longtime Christian, or a servant of God, this course gives every child of God an honest diagnosis and a concrete path of growth.
